Salba Smart Chia for Your Diet (**GIVEAWAY**)

This product was provided free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

As a busy mom, it can really be a challenge to eat healthy.  In addition, I find myself snacking on junk when I should be grabbing something nutritious and well-rounded.  Salba Smart Chia has become part of my daily routine, because these little seeds are a great source of Omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, calcium, iron, magnesium, and much more.  Plus, Salba Chia is Non-GMO Project Verified!

Chia has become known as something that can be used to health improve nutritional value but also helping to satisfy appetite.  You may have heard Dr. Oz, Men’s Fitness Magazine or Rachel Beller, MS, RD, recommend these little seeds to aid in living a healthier lifestyle.

  • Boosts Nutrition:  Salba chia is the richest whole food source of Omega-3 fatty acids (ALA) and fiber found in nature on a gram for gram basis. Every 15g serving of Salba provides over 3,400 mg of Omega-3s (ALA) – 800% more Omega-3 (ALA) than salmon (EPA/DHA). Salba has less than 1 g net carbohydrate per serving.
  • Curbs Appetite: Each serving contains 5.1g of dietary fiber to support healthy digestion and increase satiety, which can help to ward of cravings and sugar crashes. Salba chia seeds absorb many times their weight in water, which helps to slow digestion and leave you feeling fuller for longer.

Salba Chia makes a wide variety of chia products.  Chia seeds are extremely versatile, and you may have seen in previous posts that I like to sprinkle these seeds in my cereal, yogurt, or oatmeal, to start my day.  Check out Salba Chia’s website to find lots of great recipes!

Salba Smart Ground Chia Seeds

Salba Chia makes it easy.  As easy as it is to use chia seeds, Salba Smart also offers a ground chia seed as well.  I have been making a lot of healthy smoothies lately, such as Kale-Strawberry and Kale-Banana.  I feel like I spend a many of my summer mornings chauffeuring the kids to programs, camps, and lessons, so sometimes I use a smoothie to get me through the morning.  The ground chia seeds add some richness to the smoothie that I do think helps me feel fuller a bit longer.  Plus, it is high in fiber and helps with digestion, so I get lots of great benefits even though I don’t have time to sit down to a real breakfast.

The ground chia is very easy to use – you can even replace the 1/6 flour in any recipe with ground Salba.

I have been making a lot of smoothies this summer, such as fruit+kale.  I simply sprinkle the ground chia on top of the smoothie in the blender, and blend it until mixed.

Salba Smart Ground Chia

Once mixed, it is smooth and ready to go.  It really is an awesome mix of fruit, kale, and all the fantastic things that Salba chia has to offer.
