“Marsh Mud Madness” Music Video DVD from Roger Day (**GIVEAWAY**)

This product was provided free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

If you have children in your house, you probably have mud.  My children have the amazing ability to track mud into the house, even if it looks like a desert outside.  And it is usually right after I have mopped the floors.  Well, if you have kids that love mud, I would encourage you to check out this music video.  “Marsh Mud Madness” by Roger Day is all about the ecosystem that includes marshes and estuaries.  Filled with scientific information, cleverly disguised in terrific music, you will learn much as you listen and sing along with Roger.  Here are the songs on this video:

I Love to Study Mud

When I grow up I want to go to college to study mud…

The Fiddler Groove

It looked like the mud was moving, but it was fiddler crabs!  The fiddler groove is the dance the boy crabs do to get the attention of the girl crabs!  Hilarious and fun!

Mosquito Burrito

Consumers, producers and decomposers…the tiniest, most annoying consumer is the mosquito!  He loves the mosquito burrito!

Alligator in my Refrigerator

If an alligator raided your refrigerator, would he be in his natural habitat?

Periwinkle Snail

A stomach foot?  Who knew?

Dolphins Will Jump Up

Mammals with acrobatic motion!

Flushing Out the Estuary

Just like flushing a toilet!

Ghost Crab

A fiddler crab’s first cousin is nocturnal.  He is camouflaged and hard to see.  He’s the ghost crab!

Turtle Girl

Jesse the turtle girl taking care of all the turtles!

Blackbeard

He loved his silver and his gold.  Then he hid it where no one could find it!

Vulture Vomit

He defends himself by barfing up his lunch!

Everybody Loves Marsh Mud

…in between their toes and filling up their nose!  Ewww!

The photographs of the animals and marshlands included on this music video really help put the subject and the music together.  What a terrific way to educate kids!  Music and science making learning sneaky and fun!  All kinds of information about a coastal ecosystem, its animals and its life cycles set to music.  What a wonderful educational tool!

Roger has several other albums available.  “Why Does Gray Matter?” (Parent’s Choice Gold Award Winner) is filled with songs about brains.  Plus, “Ready to Fly”, “Dream Big” (Parent’s Choice Gold Award Winner), and “Rock n Roll Rodeo”.  Each album has songs that help kids learn scientific facts while singing and having fun.  You can find the lyrics here.

As if that was not enough, Roger has put together learning guides to accompany his music.  You can download them for free.  They are available for preschool and elementary classrooms.  Plus, a creative writing workshop aimed at teaching 3-5 grade students how to take a song from first idea to finished song.  Thank you, Roger!

The “Marsh Mud Madness” DVD can be purchased for $15 from CD Baby, or you can find a digital copy for $8 at Bandcamp.
