Enchanted Princess Tea Party

For my daughter’s 3rd birthday, I knew I wanted to do something memorable but not quite monumental (at least not until she turned 5). There is something magical about tea parties, and at the age of 3, every little girl deserves her own.  After finding the centerpieces of the equation, the right child’s table set and a perfectly proportioned porcelain child’s tea set, I set out out on my mission to transform a small corner of our backyard into an Enchanted Princess Tea Party for 2.

The table was set with a plate of pearly marshmallow treats and meringues (the treats of choice for my two kiddos), real chamomile tea on her new tea set, tiny silverware, flower-fastened cloth napkins, and a vintage-y flower centerpiece.

For the finishing touches, the area was adorned with tissue paper pom-pom blossoms and a sheer backdrop to give a whimsical, dream-like quality.

And it wouldn’t be enchanted without an elfin door, right?

Add the little lady with a tiara, princess dress, pearls and a willing Prince to escort her, and we are set! (And a sweater – it’s cold!)

Well, almost.  I gave her some glitter for a magical fairy dust effect, and she loved it.  The two went absolutely nuts over the entire mini event!

Aaaww how cute! I am going to have to do something like this for dd this year (I have until November to figure it out! LOL) for her bday! She would LOVE it! I absolutely LOVE the last picture with the glitter! It’s beyond gorgeous!

Thanks, Amanda! The kids loved it so much that they want another one. And I can’t take credit for the glitter idea. I have seen it with several photographers around the internet. Slightly different, but the same general idea. :)

Magical! I can’t wait for my daughter to be old enough for a party like this. We went to a southern belle tea party a few years ago – with tea served in a great grandmother’s teacups.. Probably not the best choice for a 1 year old’s party, but the cups were reserved for grown ups 😉
