Kolcraft’s Sesame Street – Elmo Tiny Steps Walker and Walk Behind (**GIVEAWAY**)

We had 3 of our review team moms (and children) review the Sesame Street – Elmo Tiny Steps Walker and Walk Behind from Kolcraft.  Here’s what each of them had to say about their experiences…

Melanie says…  This is such a great find! I was nervous about owning a walker with the scare that is out there concerning them, but I was so pleasantly surprised with the Kolcraft walker.

Wide and stable, it is perfect for my 9 month old, except that I had problems using it on my carpeted areas of my home. She was great “walking” around in the kitchen and on our back patio. I ended up removing the bumpers from the bottom, which allowed us to use it within the home.

The walker / walk behind was extremely easy to assemble and is made to be quite durable….even against my 2 year old wanting to play with it!
Not only does this activity walker have the Elmo activity bar that she loved to play with, but it is extended out, which allowed me to put snacks on the tray for her to eat and play!  The only issue that we had was that the snack tray is so wide that her little arms had problems reaching all the way to the activity bar with Elmo.  She still made it happen though!
The transition from walker to walk behind was also very easy to do and funny enough, my baby preferred the walk behind! I think she is going to be one headstrong little girl!  As mentioned before, removing the bumpers allowed us to use this indoors on our carpet, which consumes most of our home.
Overall, I was extremely pleased with this item and I would DEFINITELY recommend it to my friends with little ones!
Keleigh writes…  My son is eleven months old and over the past few weeks has started showing some interest in walking.  We hadn’t used a walker in the past, and our experience with putting him in confining bouncers, high chairs, etc., had shown us that he does not enjoy feeling “confined” at all!

We got the Kolcraft Sesame Street- Elmo Tiny Steps Walker and Walk Behind and it has been perfect for him.  He really enjoys the “walk behind” version of this walker as it allows him to feel secure, yet unconfined.  He also really enjoys the Sesame Street toys and I like that the tray is well-placed for setting finger foods on for him to snack on while he plays.

The set-up for this walker was a breeze.  Everything just snaps in together easily and doesn’t require any tools.  It took me a little over five minutes from start to finish before it was ready for play.

I noticed that the safety guards make it pretty difficult to use on carpet.   This has worked out well for us because we have it set up on the wood floor in our kitchen and it stops him before he leaves the “safe zone.”  It looks like you can probably remove them if you plan to use this walker on a mostly carpeted area.

Overall, I think this walker is a good value for the price, easy to use, and well-designed with safety & efficiency in mind.

Heather adds…  It is always exciting to watch your children grow and develop. One of my favorite milestones is when little ones start walking. Our daughter has just started to show an interest in using her feet and has been using the Sesame Street – Elmo Tiny Steps Walker and Walk Behind.

We have loved this walker. It is a sit-to-stand walker that grows with your baby, and it features baby’s favorite Sesame Street friends like Elmo and Cookie Monster.

Our favorite features…

  • Recommended for babies 6-12 months. (Our baby is 13 months and 20 pounds. The walker is perfect.)
  • Electronic play tray is our daughters favorite. She loves pushing the buttons and the music.
  • Pushes easily, but not too easily. Slip resistant pads help baby to not pull backwards and fall.
  • Not too wide. The walker fits through doorways and hallways easily.
  • The seat is height adjustable as the baby grows.
  • There is room on the play tray for snacks.
  • Quick and easy to change from a seated walker to a walk behind.
  • Made by Kolcraft, a brand I know I can trust.
Our daughter is really enjoying her Kolcraft Sesame Street-Elmo Tiny Steps Walker and Walk Behind. She enjoys sitting in the walker and pushing the shapes to make the music. She also loves the beads and the mirror. When she is ready to be more active, I can quickly switch the walker to a walk behind, and she is ready to walk around the house, practicing her skills.
Here is a demo video showcasing two of our review moms’ kids with the walker/walk behind:

I am having an issue with the elmo 2n1. My son is 8 1/2 months old and when in the seat with the strap at the highest possible position he seems to be too tall as he has to bend his knees to walk. He doesn’t yet have the balance to walk and am not sure if I should set it up for him to walk behind. Also his doctor told us she did not want him trying to walk till at least 9 months because he is a big boy and his legs couldn’t support the weight which is why we decided this would at least get him using his feet. Any suggestions would be great. Thank You for your time.
