Welch’s Natural Spreads Kit (valued at $40) **GIVEAWAY**

In the past, our family has not been a PB&J kind of family.  Gluten free bread is generally blah.  So, sandwiches are a rare item on our meal plan.  However, when Welch’s sent me two jars of their new Natural Spreads, I took the opportunity to introduce my children to PB&J sandwiches.  They love them!

The new Welch’s Natural Spreads are different than your typical store-bought jams and jellies because they are:

  • All natural
  • No high fructose corn syrup
  • No artificial flavors or colors
  • No preservatives
  • 100% North American grown

I appreciate manufacturers, like Welch’s, who are working to offer products that are free of high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, colors and preservatives.  I also am proud of Welch’s for using fruit grown in North America.  It makes these products more appealing to me as a consumer.

For those of you who care, Welch’s Natural Spreads are also (like most fruit spreads):

  • Gluten free
  • MSG free
  • Nut free

Available flavors include Concord Grape, Strawberry and Raspberry.  Yum!

My personal taste test says that these new Welch’s Natural Spreads taste more like homemade than many other store-bought jams and jellies.  The flavor stays true to its fruit.  In short, it is WONDERFUL!  And, I love that the ingredients do NOT include high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, colors or preservatives.  In fact, the ingredients list includes most of the same ingredients I would use if I was making it myself!  The texture is more like my home made, too.  It is very spreadable and works great when your bread is a little more crumbly than usual (as gluten free bread tends to be).

You might ask, “What can you use these for besides making PB&Js?”  Ah, good question!  Here are a few ideas:

  • Add to ice cream, yogurt
  • Toast spread with jam (one of my favorite things!)
  • Use it as the fruit layer in crumble bars or in thumbprint PB cookies
  • Stir some into your next homemade muffin recipe instead chocolate chips or regular fruit
  • Use it as the jelly in homemade jelly-filled donuts
  • Use it in place of syrup on your pancakes or French toast

    Nothing beats using Welch’s jelly on a classic PBJ sandwhich!! However, grape jelly, barbecue, and chili sauce make an awesome meatball marinade in the crockpot!!

    I don’t really use any, but I would like to start making yogurt again, and I would probably add this too it for flavor. I think my son would like it!

    The kids love PB&J and we all love jam on toast. My favorite way to enjoy Strawberry jam is in thumbprint cookies 😉

    I love to spread warmed cream cheese and jelly on crustless bread then roll it up like a wrap! The kids love it and it takes far less space in the lunch box too!
