Tumble Bee **GIVEAWAY**

Folk music lovers, unite!  Laura Veirs has released a children’s album called “Tumble Bee” that is full of fun folk music for kids.  (Adults will love it, too!)  Some of them might be familiar, but some of them might be new.  I love learning new songs!

Check out these titles:

      • Little Lap Dog Lullaby (Traditional)
      • Prairie Lullaby  (Billy Hill)
      • Jack Can I Ride?  (Traditional)
      • Tumblebee  (Karl Blau)
      • King Kong Kitchie Kitchie Ki-Me-O  (Traditional)
      • All the Pretty Little Horses  (Traditional)
      • The Fox  (Traditional)
      • Jump Down Spin Around  (Harry Belafonte)
      • Why Oh Why  (Woody Guthrie)
      • Down in the Medder  (Laura Veirs/Karl Blau)
      • Soldier’s Joy  (Jimmy Driftwood)
      • Jamaica Farewell  (Lord Burgess)
      • Prairie Dream  (Rob Burger)

Some of the songs on this album are sleepy lullabies (Little Lap Dog Lullaby, Prairire Lullaby, All the Pretty Little Horses), some are dancing songs (Tumblebee, The Fox, Why Oh Why, Soldier’s Joy) and others are get up and jump around songs that will get your tongue twisted if you try to sing along (Jack Can I Ride?, King Kong Kitchie Kitchie Ki-Me-O, Jump Down Spin Around).  I think you will find at least one favorite to add to your collection!

I have a particular affinity for the ninth song on the album.  Why Oh Why struck a chord with me because it mirrors the questions I hear on a daily basis from my little ones.  I love the “why” question lyrics and the “because, because, because” responses.  This is a perfect song for Mommies to sing with their uber-inquisitive kiddos.

Laura’s website is full of fun tidbits of information, facts about her and her new album, show dates and locations, downloadable coloring pages that match the art on her album, places to listen to her music and links to purchase her albums/merchandise including an LP version of “Tumble Bee”!  You can also follow Laura Veirs on Facebook.  The CD is on sale for $11.00 and the downloadable CD for $4.99!

I would encourage you to check out this album and get to dancing to new (old) music with your little ones!  Consider it a step in the right directions towards your New Year’s resolutions to exercise and spend more time with your children!
