Lil Rinser Shampoo Solution – 5 WINNERS! (CLOSED)

What child really likes having their hair washed?  Is it because they don’t like squeaky clean and good smelling hair?  No (I hope).  It’s usually because they don’t want shampoo or water getting into their eyes, ears, nose, or mouth.

But have no fear – Lil Rinser takes care of that problem with their rinse and run technology!

Invented by two dads who knew “there had to be a better way,” Lil Rinser shields the child’s face and ears from any water or shampoo to make bath time a pleasant time for everyone involved.  This product is a MUST HAVE in every home with young children.

I was so excited to receive Lil Rinser because in the last several months bath time for our son has not been what it used to be.  He LOVED taking baths and showers and never minded having his hair washed for the first 36 months of his life.  But for some reason in these past months, this has changed.  He despised having his hair washed and pleaded with us every time.  No, let me rephrase that – my son physically runs away from his beloved bath time every time he hears it’s a hair-washing day.  Since dad has bath duty, I hear the screams and cries from afar and I know it’s the dreaded “hair” day.

For my son, I believe it is more than just disliking water in his face and ears. Since our move almost 2 years ago, my son has had perpetual allergies, resulting in constant fluid in his ears. Anything (like water) that gets in his ears irritates that problem even more so.  Now with Lil Rinser, we don’t have to worry about that.

How it works: Press Lil Rinser gently against the child’s forehead and above the ears and then pour.

  • Comfortable soft grip handle
  • Soft rim that gently forms a watertight seal around head
  • A channelled rim that directs water to the back and away from the face

There is a slight learning curve if your child has never used one before, as it takes a few tries to get them to relax and trust that Lil Rinser will work the way it’s designed.  My son is mostly past that curve but not entirely.  He still bargains with us not to do his hair, but I don’t hear any cries or screams when he does have to do it.  In fact, he even likes to (clumsily) hold the handle himself (which I think may be why his learning curve is taking so long).  Here is a brief video of him using his Lil Rinser:

I have only one complaint with the product.  Though it claims to be one size fits all, my youngest (13 months) does not quite fit Lil Rinser.  However, this may never be an issue for anyone else, as she does have a smaller than average sized head.

BUY! Lil Rinser is perfect for a baby shower.  Purchase it from places like Babies R Us and Amazon in 4 fun color combinations.  Amazon sells it for $9.98 with free shipping, but you can see other available retailers here.

Our bathtime woes are definitely trying to rinse out the shampoo. We do it last because once we do, the fun is over.
