Groove Kid Nation: The Wheels on the Bus CD (**GIVEAWAY CLOSED**)

Groove is what you will do when you pop this CD into the player!  I found myself and my three kids dancing to the music of Groove Kid Nation: The Wheels on the Bus while we made dinner last night.  Even the baby was getting down!  When the music ended, my oldest said, “Mom, can we listen to it again?”

One of the things I like about this album is that it is not only fun to listen to, but its intended purpose it to teach kids about specific musical instruments.  The music highlights voice, flute, saxophone, piano, bass guitar, trumpet, guitar, trombone and drums.  A 10-page illustrated booklet accompanies the CD to assist parents in helping their kids identify the instrument featured in each song.

Here is a bit from Rodney Lee, the brains and talent behind this album:

I wanted to introduce my now 2-year-old son to real musical instruments so I called together a few of my friends who are among the top professional musicians in LA, and the result is “Groove Kid Nation”.

The website includes tips for parents to help their kids get the most out of listening to the CD, information about the artists and (my favorite) a guide to the best musical instruments for kids under age 5.

As an added benefit to owning the Groove Kid Nation CD, 10% of the wholesale price from this CD will be donated to CARE, a leading humanitarian organization fighting poverty.

Subscribe to their newsletter and instantly download all of this FREE stuff:

  • An mp3 track from the CD
  • A Coloring Book of the characters
  • An eclectic EP of my son’s heartbeat and acoustic piano

If you would like to listen before you buy, the website has snippets of the songs.

I would encourage you to get your groove on and grab this album.  The kids don’t need to know that they are learnin’ while they are groovin’, right?

BUY! Groove Kid Nation: The Wheels on the Bus will be available March 8th.

I learned the following about Flutes: Flutes are often a good place to start because they don’t require much lung capacity to produce a decent tone. In addition, ethnic flutes often have fewer holes to finger and can be easier for your child to understand.

The lyre sounds great…I discovered that you tune them to a scale, pluck the strings and there is no wrong note! Ilike the size and I think the history of the lyre that I am familiar with… is exciting too!

I learned SO much from this review, can’t wait to try some of the instruments with a curious little girl in our family!

    So worthwhile and fun, thanks!

Kids instruments like the Glockenspiel can be out of tune and just make noise. Never thought of that before.
