Color in 3D! (iColor 3D Giveaway **CLOSED**)

We LOVE to color around here! It’s not a secret. I love coloring books and now that we’ve got some more OT under our belts, so does Isaac. We also love 3D! So, when the iColor 3D Coloring books came our way, we were beyond excited. We received both the Playground as well as the Dinosaur coloring books.

These coloring books are not your average run of the mill books. These are no mess, no fuss coloring books that you can use in two modes-adventure or discovery.

In adventure mode (which we chose most of the time) you put the included 3D glasses on and color the picture with your choice of crayons, markers or colored pencils and watch as either the adorable playground animals or the realistic dinosaurs come to life before your eyes.  Isaac loved adventure mode, because with his ADHD, he didn’t have to wait to put on the cool glasses and it actually forced him to focus on the task .

Discovery mode is where you color the pictures WITHOUT the 3D glasses and then put them on at the end and see what happens. To be honest, this was a bit tougher. Not because of the wait time, but because of the 3D nature of the images. Both Isaac and I were quite confused as to where our lines were in some of the images without the 3D glasses.

I will give this hint-markers don’t work so hot. Markers were all I could find one day when we went to color. So, I grabbed them. We colored and it didn’t work as well as the colored pencils or crayons. The awesome people at iColor recommend either colored pencils or crayons, so we really should have known!

Although we loved BOTH of the coloring books, there was a clear winner in our house-the DINOSAUR book!

This showed the dinosaurs in their natural habitat and it was just awesome to watch the T-Rex and my personal favorite the Brontosaurus come to life before our eyes and pop off the page. I’m not ashamed to say that Isaac and I did a lot of “HEY! My turn!” with the dinosaur book, much to the amusement of my husband!

This was amazing OT. Both fun and worked on all of the areas that need strengthening with Isaac’s fine motor skills. It was also highly motivating, so he kept at it. Awesome all around if you ask me!

From iColor3D’s website:

Unleash excitement and thrills with our visual
3D creations that leap off the page!
Let the artist in you color your very own 3D world and
open new doors of wondrous surprises.

Kids and adults will enjoy coloring these pages with crayons or colored pencils while using the iColor3D glasses to view their amazing creations. Indeed, artists will want to wear the supplied 3D glasses while coloring and will enjoy the excitement of seeing the picture jump off of the page as it is colored.

Each book is packaged with two sets of glasses bound into the book’s colorful cover. A small sticky tab seals the book and protects the two sets of 3D glasses.

The coloring books are a unique, fun, messless way to spend down time, and even provide (for those of us with kids with special needs) some really different occupational therapy!

Buy it! Order them online here. Each book is $5.99, and comes with the 3D glasses. There are Playground, Dinosaur, Castle and Under Sea.

I’m just blown away that for $6 you can buy coloring books in 3D! Who would have thunk it :) Thinking the playground fun book must be really cute but can see how the dinosaurs would definitely be more impressive!
