A Merry Fluffy Christmas *Sponsor Spotlight* ROCKin’ GREEN (EXTRA ENTRIES CLOSED)

We’ll continue “A Merry Fluffy Christmas” sponsor spotlights with…

**** Rockin’ Green Soap ****

I have a front-loading HE washer and very hard water, which is about the worst combination you can have when laundering cloth diapers.  Because of this, I have been battling wash routines and the dreaded ammonia stink for what seems like ages.  For some reason, stripping doesn’t quite work.  Using a water softener doesn’t work.  I tried every piece of advice I read or heard, exhausting the brands of detergents out there, even using no detergent.  Nothing.

Every time I finally thought I had a “tried and true” wash routine down, that ammonia stink would return by morning, leaving me utterly stumped.  How did that not burn my baby’s skin?  I mean, it was straight ammonia smell – you know the kind that makes you cough with the tiniest inhalation and your nostrils burn when you get near it?  I should have just called the laundry guru, Kim at Rockin’ Green.  (By the way, she has a GREAT article on how to wash cloth diapers that every cloth diapering mom should read.)

Rockin’ Green laundry detergent is the only cloth diaper detergent I know that comes in three rockin’ formulas to compensate for your type of water, which is a key “ingredient” in properly washing your diapers.

  1. Classic Rock is for those of you who don’t have hard water nor soft.
  2. Hard Rock is for those who have hard water.
  3. Soft Rock is for those who have soft water or sensitive skin.

Don’t know what kind of water you have?  Check this map.  It’s pretty accurate unless you have a water softener installed in your home, that is!

As a front loading washer owner, I cannot open the cycle once it has started, so I could never actually see the soap in action, but I know it’s working.  And I have also noticed that I need fewer rinses, so less energy (and thus money) is wasted.

I have just about cleared my diapers of all other detergents and ammonia (it takes a few washes at first to get the full benefit of Rockin’ Green), minus two inserts (SuperDos) that may just need more soaking.  I may have to try their newest formula, Funk Rock Ammonia Bouncer, on those two inserts, or just contact Kim for her expert tips!

Rockin’ Green detergent is good for all clothes, not just cloth diapers.  Its non-foaming formula is free of dyes, enzymes, optical brighteners, and phosphates, so it’s also good for the environment.

Plus it comes in unscented and scented (natural fragrances) versions with fun “Band” names like:

  • Smashing Watermelons
  • Rage Against the Raspberries
  • Motley Clean
  • The Plain Green Teas
  • Lavender Mint Revival (this is the scent I chose, and I absolutely LOVE it)
  • Mighty Mighty Marshmallow
  • Bare Naked Babies (unscented)

Did you know you can earn rewards for each purchase you make at Rockin’ Green?  Collect points to win free merchandise – maybe even a free bag of detergent!

So if you are sick of the laundry battle, then Rockin’ Green should be on your cloth diaper playlist! It’s music to anyone’s ears.

But Rockin’ Green doesn’t only sell their legendary detergents.  They also sell a magnetic laundry scoop, diaper rash creams that are cloth diaper safe, wool dryer balls to reduce drying time, a pail freshener, a diaper sprayer, and rockin’ t-shirts!

Buy your preferred formula on their website or at these retailers for $13.95-15.95 for 45/90 load size or $22.95-26.95 for the 90/180 size, depending on the formula.  For my formula (Hard Rock) and using an HE washer, it costs me 21 cents per load using the 90/180 size (that includes shipping rates) versus the cost of Tide HE 110 loads at 32 cents per load.  Maybe I should switch to using Rockin’ Green for all my clothes?

So what is Rockin’ Green generously contributing to our Fluffy Stash package that is now almost $500 in “fluffy” goodness? A 45/90 size bag of detergent in your choice of formula and scent (valued at $13.95-15.95)!
