The Sky’s The Limit with Connectagons (GIVEAWAY CLOSED)

Hearthsong has quality and age-appropriate products for children of all ages.  I trust Hearthsong because all of their products are carefully selected, non-toxic, and rigorously tested for safety. So I was excited when we had an opportunity to review yet another of their exclusive, award-winning and wonderfully educational toys …

What are Connectagons?  They are small, brightly colored wooden discs (just under 2 inches in diameter) with 8 slots each that connect together (hence the name) to make shapes of your choosing – small, large, tall, short, long, round, square – the sky’s the limit! They are great fun for the building enthusiast of any age.  All imagination and creativity and no batteries in sight. The colors are fabulous, and the possibilities are endless.  I love the 3D shapes you can make with them!

Connectagons are meant for children ages 4 and up, but my 9 month old’s eyes get big every time we bring them out.  Though she can’t build anything, she loves handling, scattering, and chewing them.  Yes, it does get a bit messy when we get these out, but this toy is a big hit with both of my kids.

With 240 pieces, there’s enough of them for both kids to have their own without any fighting.  And because they are wooden, have smooth edges and are made with non-toxic paint, I don’t panic when the baby chews on them.  (It’s really nice to be able to replace some of our plastic toys with some safer, wooden versions.)

My 3 year old cannot build with them alone quite yet, but he can do a few small designs, mostly linear.  I’m confident that he will get the hang of it soon enough, but he has enjoyed it most as a family activity.  He has already taken one creation to Show n Tell.

Being a Montessori-minded mom, I absolutely love that I can re-use these discs as a sorting activity (due to the different colors and patterns).

There are 8 varieties of Connectagons available for purchase (Original, Butterflies and Flowers, Heart-to-Hearts, Treetop, Fairy Garden, Happy Faces, Under the Sea, and Geometry), and each one can combine to make even bigger structures.

My recommendation would be to purchase the storage bag ($4.98) because the small wooden box that is included makes for a difficult clean-up.  The pieces only fit a certain way, and with 240 of them, a younger child really looses interest in putting them in.

Buy: Purchase the original Connectagons set for $24.98, or combine both the original and the geometry set for $39, a savings of almost $11!

Win: HearthSong is giving one of our readers a chance to win a set of Connectagons!
