Well, it’s that time again…moving day.
YUCK. I do not like moving. I do not like saying good-bye. I do not like packing. It’s a bitter-sweet move, but I believe it’s God’s will for us. It is phenominal and amazing how God orchistrated things in our life to come together as they have to allow us to move back up north to “home”.
I never thought I would utter that word “home” when talking about Michigan…but things have changed. Being born and raised in sunny SanDiego, and then moving to Michigan was a real weather shocker! For so many years I refused to call it home because it was so different that SanDiego. There wasn’t as much to do, there was ocean, no surfing, and no real mexican food. After high school I moved around a bit, but ended up back in Michigan to be close to my family. I met and married my husband, we started a family, and ended up moving to Washington (state) for his job. After Washington came Florida, and still I have not foud a state that I like as much as Michigan. Yes; the winters are long…but that is the only downer that I can see. There are four beautiful seasons, wonderful people, great shopping, open fields, an amazing lake that is more like an ocean, real farms, and no trafic compared to SanDiego, Hawaii, and Orlando! Yes, I am going home and I am happy. Weather is bad in any state during certian times of the year…so I don’t think the cold long winters can dampen my excitement…just yet; we’ll have to wait and see what I think in March when it’s still freezing outside! ;-)
Sometimes going through something you don’t like any part of is a good thing…because you end up in a place you love. I think our relationship with God is like that. So many times I felt like I was dragging through the mud of life, but on the other side, I saw everything I can come through and how much God helped me and who I had become because of it…and I could not have been happier looking back! I also would not be equiped to help others as I am if I had not gone through some of the things I have in life. God is so good.
Well, this is good-bye for now. I will be away for a few days; but Lord willing I will be back here next Monday!
With you for His glory,

Good luck with the move. I too grew up in sunny San Diego. I have since moved to Reno and now Utah where I live with my family. Nothing compares to the weather in SD, but like you, somewhere else is finally home. Home is where my husband and three kids and I are, and that is all that matters.
I have also learned that so much of the experience depends on attitude. Hope all goes well.
Good luck with your oving, and welcome to the new place! Hope you enjoy it!
