WE’RE ATTENDING THE FINALE!
When I heard that my family was receiving tickets to the Party in Dallas (at the Dr. Pepper Arena), I was so excited that I had to “Get the Sillies Out!” Being that my son is only 3 years old, I should have waited to tell him until the day or two before the actual show, but I couldn’t help it. My son’s eyes were starry-eyed. As (nearly) a 3-year faithful fanatic of Yo Gabba Gabba!, I know I will be facing the inevitable and endless game of “Are we there yet?” from now until December. (What was I thinking, right?)
Haven’t heard about Yo Gabba Gabba? (I will refrain from comments such as “Have you been living under a rock!?”) With great music and instructional concepts, YGG packs an educational punch coupled with FUN times for kids and adults alike. It’s much better than your average Sesame Street (for parents who have long suffered through boring watching kid shows over and over again), and has even gotten my three old son to try new foods (with catchy and useful songs like “There’s a Party in my Tummy,” and “Try it – you’ll like it”). Over the course of my son’s obsession with the quirky characters (and ours, too), we have influenced several people to watching and subsequently getting hooked on the show. We have ALL of the shows on the DVR in case he needs to watch a show or 20. Several times a day. On repeat. (I’m glad we own a DVR and that we actually like the show.)
The state-of-the-art production features music, singing, dancing and animation. The show is an interactive experience that offers audience members of all ages the opportunity to witness their favorite characters come to life. Joining the characters on stage will be hip-hop legend Biz Markie to teach kids how to beat box with “Biz’s Beat of the Day.” Special guests will join the party on stage for the Super Music Friends Show and Dancey Dance segments.
Since the show is geared for preschoolers, I was happy to read that the Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! show is preschool-friendly. By that I mean that it lasts only an hour, perfect for my short-attention spanned 3 year old, and is jam-packed with music and fun for the whole family. I was also happy to learn that though it will be his first “rock concert,” we don’t have worry about his poor little ears. (Thanks YGG!)
Come join the one and only DJ Lance and the Gang at the Party in YOUR City and find out who the super-secret guests are! I don’t know who will be performing at the show we’re attending, as it is super-secret, but I secretly hope it will be The Roots and The Aquabats, both of which are favorite “Super Music Friends Show” guests of ours!
$1 from every ticket sold during the 2010 YO GABBA GABBA! LIVE!: THERE’S A PARTY IN MY CITY North American tour will be donated to the Habitat for Humanity local affiliate in each tour city, to further their homebuilding efforts.
VIP packages with premium tickets will also be available (where your child can meet, take pictures with, sing, and dance with the Gabba Gang, and even beatbox with Biz!! My son would absolutely die if he knew about this!). For complete tour, ticket, and VIP package information, visit www.yogabbagabbalive.com. Children under one year of age will be admitted free to sit on a parent’s lap.
Also, be on the lookout for a CD/Book/DVD GIVEAWAY coming up later this fall on the Village of Moms. If you are in or near the Connecticut area, be sure to visit This Mama Loves Her Bargains for a chance to win a family four pack of tickets to the Party in Connecticut on September 29th!
