Aside from starting on my “healthy journey,” I knew I had to get new teething toys for my (then) 5 month old daughter. She was teething full-time and refused the cold plastic, water-filled teethers we offered her. (Being made of plastic, I detested giving them to her as well). My daughter is an awful teether, having every symptom in the book, and I just felt helpless without any teethers she liked. That’s when I started researching my options. Specifically, more organic and natural options that she would like. Something better, something safer. There had to be at least one, right?
I discovered, quite accidentally, I might add, RiNGLEY. It is organic, natural, chemical-free, dye-free, and it has KNOTS! My baby LOVES knots. What baby doesn’t? As soon as she got her grubby little hands on it, she gnawed (and gnawed and gnawed) on the terrycloth knots like it was her best buddy (not that we gnaw on our buddies – well, maybe if you are a teething baby you would). When she was done with it, it was a soaking mess. I guess what i am trying to say is that it’s definitely approved by my daughter as a great teething aid and definitely approved by me as safe. Perfect harmony (cue the heavenly music)!
Invented by a (very smart) mom, the RiNGLEY is an ideal and efficient teething tool for any suffering baby. Each one is handmade of untreated and naturally anti-bacterial Canadian maple (one of the strongest types of wood) and 100% certified organic cotton terrycloth. Providing these two different textures enables children to satisfy their teething needs. Though my daughter has no problems chewing on the harder wood surface, right now her gums are swollen and sore from her first two little teeth making their first appearance in the past week. I am sure that she will eventually love chewing on the wooden ring once this phase is over, but right now her preference is the terrycloth. She does like to hold her RiNGLEY by its wooden ring, which is perfectly sized for her tiny, chubby hands.
We received the RiNGLEY junior, one of the four styles from which you can pick. What I like about the junior, as opposed to the first two styles (the knotted and the straight) is that it can be machine-washed. The wooden ring detaches from the organic terrycloth via a Velcro tab. I also like that this particular design has small enough knots for my daughter to be able to put wholly into her mouth. The other knots just seemed a little too big.
